What are airless tires?
Unlike conventional pneumatic tires, airless tires have a tread ring connected to the rim via flexible spokes. This construction supports the vehicle's weight while ensuring a comfortable ride. "TWEEL" is a portmanteau of the English terms "TYRE" and "WHEEL". It was developed at the Michelin Research Center in Greenville, South Carolina.

The MICHELIN X® TWEEL™ is a unit consisting of a wheel and an airless radial tire. The most important components are:
